Saab Viggen fender badge NINTH STEWARD

Not a build thread. A forensic restoration.

Custody, not a product page. The dossier records what happened before this steward — and what is being measured now.

Thesis

The story only moves when evidence moves

No invented romance. No owner exposure. No mechanical claims without a document, a measurement, or a visible caveat.

Why documents matter

Receipts, registrations, and forum traces show what the car actually was — not what we wish it had been.

Why Highway 9

Highway 9 is Saratoga to Santa Cruz. It is the drive after the 9th Route earns it — a future, not only a cleaned-up past.

Why the Viggen matters

A rare U.S. car

The 1999 Viggen is tracked as a limited U.S.-market car. Public registry context repeatedly refers to roughly ~400 cars for the USA.

Technically distinct

Not just another OG 9-3. It carries the B235R turbo engine, a 5-speed manual, and Saab’s factory hot-hatch intent.

Lightning Blue 270

Factory code 270 = Lightning Blue is FACT and Viggen-only in Saab parts literature. That this chassis is 270 remains INFER (very high) until the paint-code sticker is photographed.

What the 9th Route means

Routes 1–8 are closed chapters. The 9th Route is Zhenya’s live ownership chapter: measurement before guessing, evidence before narrative.

Not restored to erase its past. Restored to understand it.
